Before Alien was bestowed to legend Ridley Scott (who beforehand had only directed one film) it was to be helmed by producer Walter Hill, known for directing cult classic The Warriors. It was Scott’s storyboards that convinced 20th Century Fox to double the film’s budget, Scott who personally cast young inexperienced Sigourney Weaver and John Hurt, Scott who changed the creature of the script to the bizzare and terrifying entity that exists in the film and Scott who will, of course, return to our screens explosively in 2012 with Prometheus.
